Gameplay

The game controls are smooth. The game uses a thrust meter on the touchscreen on the left. To take off you pull the thrust up. Then you turn left. Hit the green arrow. Then you push the blue button to take off.
F-18 Landing - Landing is much different. To land, you need to cone into the aircrafter carrier at the right angle. You slowing drop in altitude with on on the left hand side of your screen. Then you push the landing gear button. This pulls down the landing gear. slowing drop in altitude to land. Be careful. If you come in too hard or too steep you crash and blow up in flames.

At first, landing my F-18 Hornet or F-22 Raptor was extremely difficult. I crashed every time. Then I googled "How to land F-18 Flight simulator for apple iphone". A steam forum thread came up. It said to make sure that the bubble or donut is correct. And most importantly, don't be afraid to yank up (down is up on your iphone gyroscope. This ensures that you don't nose plant into the deck of the aircraft carrier. I did that over a few dozen times before Googleing how to land. After that, I finally was able to land by yanking the nose of my F-22 raptor up. You need to land before midship and catch one of the wires.


Being able to finally land was a great feeling. Next I want to try Escort mode. I already tried take off mode, and landing. Overall I give the game an 8 of out 10. I'd give it a 10 if they had stealth bombers, and more add on options.

My thoughts are that the game is pretty cool. It could use a few more planes though like a stealth bomber. Also, other cool modes like combat and dog fight should be added.
