Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, confirmed the speculations about a possible Tesla Phone during his Monday appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast.
A phone is one of the most widely circulated speculations regarding Tesla, its future developments, and possible next ventures.
Nor is it surprising. There are numerous videos on YouTube that claim Musk has personally guaranteed a phone if you search for "Tesla Phone":
When Will the Tesla Phone Be Released? | Tesla Phone
Tesla is known for launching unusual but appropriate items, like a stainless steel whistle and an EV for children that is modeled after a Cybertruck. Therefore, I wouldn't be shocked if it were announced that Tesla will be releasing a phone. The issue is that there isn't any trustworthy news to support this!
The majority of the rumors originate from a 2021 YouTube video posted by ADR Studio Design. However, they make it apparent that they are the designer's concepts rather than actual leaks or Tesla information. That one source seems to be the basis for the majority of the reports about this subject.
The concepts for this phone, such as Neuralink support and networking on... Mars, are a little too sophisticated to be practical at this time, but we'll get into these in more detail below. A smartphone could still be in development without those features since they are not required to be present in the initial version of the phone. However, when those concepts are being floated at such an early stage, it is natural to be suspicious.
It would be ineffective to invest in a phone if the ultimate consequence of brain-connected technologies, such as Neuralink, is to phase out phones completely.
Price rumors for the Tesla phone | Tesla Phone
With all of the cutting-edge technology discussed below, a phone would cost more than a few thousand dollars. As more people use the technology, future iterations may become more affordable, but I don't think the initial version will be within most people's means.
A Tesla-branded phone may cost between $800 and $1,200, assuming it is real (remember, there is no reason to believe so) and that it would start off rather basic with only a few of the alleged capabilities.
Features of the Tesla Pi 5G
The reports regarding this phone are not surprising given Tesla's extravagant features in their current goods, such as the Cybertruck's almost impenetrable exoskeleton and bioweapon defensive mode in some of their other vehicles.
I might classify it as a robust smartphone based on its capabilities, but these mockups also suggest that it might be a high-end, svelte phone made with Tesla owners in mind.
Satellite internet: Although a Tesla 5G phone makes sense, the firm also has the option of using SpaceX's space-based internet service, Starlink (Musk is the CEO of both). However, they'd need to figure out how to provide decent service from such a little gadget while also hiding the large antenna that satellite phones have. According to one hypothesis, it would function in locations with an existing Starlink base, such as a building or, if it materializes, a Tesla vehicle equipped with the proper antenna.
Vehicle control: To do simple car tasks like locking and unlocking the car, controlling media playing, and calling the vehicle, there is already a Tesla app for smartphones. If not integrated into the operating system, this app would most likely be preinstalled on the phone for convenient access from the lock screen or through external buttons. Additionally, the app might provide exclusive features to Tesla phone owners.
